The Youth Local Government Accountability Fellowship is an extension of the Spotlight for Transparency and Accountability Initiative’s flagship Youth Civic Engagement Academy (YCEA), which aims to increase young civic engagement and involvement in Nigeria.
In Yobe State, the program will bring together civic actors, activists, and members of civil society who are young men, women, and people with disabilities for a two-day boot camp, a three-month leadership development program, a three-month mentorship, and the execution of civic action in their communities.
The program will equip the participants with the required civic engagement, advocacy, resource mobilization, and community organizing skills needed to strengthen civic involvement and engagement in their communities.
