The 2026 ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program is a one-year professional internship designed to integrate young graduates from West African countries into ECOWAS institutions, departments, agencies, and representations. It provides hands-on experience, career development, and an opportunity to contribute to regional integration and development.

Open to all fields, depending on the needs expressed by ECOWAS institutions, agencies, and departments.

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Citizens of ECOWAS member states
  • Aged 18–32 years
  • Holders of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent certificate

How Do They Choose Applicants?
Selections are made by a Technical Committee based on candidate profiles, program needs, and submitted documents. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted.

Which nations are qualified?
All ECOWAS member states: Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.

Where will the prize be accepted?
ECOWAS institutions, departments, agencies, and representations across West Africa.

How Many Honors?
80 internship positions are available.
