The WIPO Young Experts Program (YEP) supports the development of early-career professionals who are passionate about Intellectual Property (IP) and its role in driving innovation and sustainable development worldwide.
Through this 2-year competitive program, a select group of young and talented professionals will work first-hand on WIPO’s various initiatives. The Program offers exposure to both technical and strategic aspects of IP, allowing YEP participants to gain skills and knowledge that can contribute to the future economic growth of their countries and regions.

The WIPO Young Experts Program (YEP) is a prestigious 2-year professional development initiative hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva. The program nurtures future global leaders in intellectual property (IP), innovation, and creativity by immersing them in WIPO’s projects and global mission.

👤 Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must:
- Be under 35 years old
- Hold a first-level university degree
- Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Possess strong research, analytical, and communication skills
- Be fluent in English
- Show demonstrated interest or experience in IP, innovation, or creativity
âś… How do they choose applicants?
The selection process includes:
- Application screening
- Online testing
- Virtual interviews (Sept–Oct 2025)
- Final selection by Nov 2025
- Selected candidates begin in Feb 2026
🌍 Which nations are qualified?
Open to all nationalities, with special encouragement for applicants from developing and underrepresented countries.

Around 10 individuals will be selected for the 2026–2027 cohort.
