About Foundation Year at Manchester
We offer courses that will fully prepare you for degree-level study in engineering or the natural sciences, while giving you the same student experience as any other undergraduate at the University; you’ll be taught on campus, by the same lecturers, with access to the same facilities.
The Foundation Year at Manchester is ‘year zero’ of a four or five-year course leading to a degree qualification from one of the departments within the University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering.
It’s a fully integrated pathway: your Foundation Year curriculum is tailored to your chosen degree programme and successful completion of the year automatically progresses you to first year; no need to reapply.
The Foundation Year course is extremely popular, admitting up to 350 students each year.
