The BeGreen Programme 2025, delivered in partnership with Generation Unlimited and UNICEF, is a fully sponsored entrepreneurship development initiative designed to empower young founders in Nigeria and South Africa to launch or scale businesses in the green economy.
The programme offers hands-on learning, mentorship, and milestone-based seed funding of up to USD 5,000, helping participants build profitable, sustainable ventures that address environmental challenges while creating jobs and economic value.

Which fields qualify?
Entrepreneurs and innovators in any green or sustainability-focused sector are encouraged to apply. This includes (but is not limited to):

Who is eligible to apply?
✔ Applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 34 years old.
- Be based in Nigeria or South Africa.
- Have a business idea, prototype, or existing venture contributing to environmental sustainability.
- Be committed to completing the online learning programme and milestone assessments.
- Be available for training and mentoring sessions throughout the programme period.
Applicants may fall into one of three stages:
- Ideation Stage (0–3 months) – Strong idea but not yet tested.
- New Business Stage (3–6 months) – Prototype tested; working on model and strategy.
- Existing Business Stage (6+ months) – Already operating and generating revenue or close to profitability.
How Do They Choose Applicants?
✅ Selection is based on:
- Entrepreneurial skills test results.
- Strength and potential of the business idea or venture.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and community impact.
- Quality of responses in the application form and assessments.
- Performance during learning blocks and live pitch events.
Shortlisted candidates will progress through learning and evaluation stages, with only top performers advancing to the grant and funding phase.
