1. These Career Development Grants are specifically for women.

• Applicants must be either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States.
• Hold an earned (not honorary) bachelor’s degree.
• Applicants must have earned their bachelor’s degree by June 30, 2014.
• Applicants must not have already earned a graduate or professional degree (excluding honorary degrees).
• Are currently taking or intend to take courses or participate in activities to improve career prospects or gain promotions.

2. Participants are currently enrolled or intend to enroll in one of the following program types.

• A bachelor’s or associate’s degree program in a different subject area than your previous bachelor’s degree.
• A master’s degree program,
• A certification program, or
• A program at a technical school.

3. Are currently studying or intend to study one of the following subjects.

• Education
• Health and medical sciences
• Social sciences.

4. All programs must be at a regionally accredited two- or four-year college or university in the US, or a technical school with full US Department of Education licensing and/or accreditation.  Grant recipients must live in the United States for the entire grant duration.

5. Online or distance learning programs are eligible for funding only if they are offered by an accredited institution that’s on the US Department of Education’s approved list for such programs.  AAUW has the final say in determining what qualifies as distance learning for these grants.

6. Applicants must state their enrollment status in the application.  While you don’t need to be already accepted into your chosen program to apply, those who show a strong commitment to their proposed study plan will be prioritized.  However, if selected, you must provide proof of admission when submitting your acceptance documents.
